I am not an expert when it comes to this, I just know what I have observed. Software that I have run in the past, like jDownloader, also used this type of environment, and it tends to respond slowly/use more resources. Also, if I recall correctly, it required Java Runtime Environment during the install. I think this is due to how the software is written since it was originally designed for Linux, even though it is labeled as cross platform. I has a great looking interface and I liked the fact that it is "Free Software." However, its biggest downfall is that it used about 5% of my cpu constantly. So, I tried Deluge which is considered to be one of the best. See here for more about their association with the MPAA : The developers are now using your cpu cycles to make money. The plus of this client is that it HAD a low cpu usage, at least until recently when a cryptocurrency mining portion was added. Also, I felt that since it is so ubiquitous (take a look at your peer list, almost everyone runs it) that there could be some data collection around my activity from the developer. I got tired of having to edit the software to try and remove ads.
#TORRENT SOFTWARE WINDOWS UTORRENT#
UTorrent is full of ads, and I believe it has an affiliation with the MPAA. I was a long time user of uTorrent, but my frustrations with the software had me searching. I run Win7 and have been on the search for the best torrent client as well.
